NanoHorizons, Inc., an emerging leader in applied nanoscale materials and solutions, today announced that Reliable of Milwaukee (Reliable), a leading apparel manufacturer, will incorporate SmartSilver anti-odor and antimicrobial protection into its hunting, footwear and outdoor product lines. NanoHorizons' SmartSilver brand, the smarter anti-odor and antimicrobial answer, is a nanoscale-engineered additive designed to offer permanent anti-odor and antimicrobial protection to fibers and fabrics. The finished Reliable of Milwaukee products will be available to consumers in the fall of 2007.
SmartSilver Nanotechnology
Engineered to be permanent, effective and simple to use in manufacturing, SmartSilver delivers the antimicrobial power of silver without any of the typical challenges of using silver in textiles. SmartSilver additives include anti-odor nanoparticles that are evenly dispersed and permanently bond to fibers ranging from natural cotton to an array of synthetic blends.
In addition to apparel, SmartSilver textiles may be used in sports and safety equipment, medical equipment, upholstery, and military equipment.
